The snowy egret saves me a dollar.
Hello people. Regular season hockey is about to begin. It coincidently runs alongside knitting season. Who wants to knit and watch hockey with me? [crickets chirp]
I just came back from Jerry's hockey game (he comes from the land of pho and bun..."#143, medium, no cilantro please"). Most everyone there was cheering for the other team. The fans (aka "fanmily members") were extremely vocal, but this one girl was yelling and screaming like she was auditioning for a horror flick. Our group of five starting giggling after one of these auditions and I guess her mom became really defensive b/c she snapped at us, "AT LEAST WE AREN'T SEASONAL FANS!" And then, "AT LEAST WE DON'T CHEER WHEN THERE ISN'T A GOAL AND KNOW HOW TO WATCH HOCKEY!!" I thought maybe she was going to start a fight right there in front of her kids. But she didn't. I'm just glad she didn't cuss, b/c heaven forbid my virgin ears be exposed to such profanity.
Speaking of cussing.... One of my friends will not say the word "ass." This was revealed when he spoke about a certain show "Jackash" replacing "ass" with "ash." It occurred to me that he might have difficulty with a number of words in the english language such as: "ashignment" (assignment), "ashets" (assets), or how about "ashashination" (assassination)? And what about when he actually has to say the word "ash?" How will I differentiate between the real ash and the ass-ash?
One more story. So I went to the new EXPANDED Tyson's Mall this past weekend. Jen and I walked into Old Navy just as they were having a gift certificate giveaway. The employee shouted out different items and if you had that item with you, you'd get a prize. "Anyone have a pen?!" And someone would pull out a pen and show it to her. I saw a woman beside me get $2! So a number of items were shouted out (IDs, wedding ring, lipstick...) and then she asks, "Does anyone have a book of stamps?!" which is completely ridiculous b/c who carries a book of stamps with them to the mall?.................
(: I do.
I emphatically pull out my book of 20 Snowy Egret (type of bird), 35-cent stamps and shove it in her face (as if there's anyone else to compete with). With a smirk, she hands me an envelope. Like Charlie waiting for his golden ticket, I rip it open only to find one measly dollar. Come on. I had a book of stamps!

I had a dream about you where you were in some sort of very public place (like at a ballgame or something). For some reason, you had this long strip of cloth that you started tying around yourself and wrapping across your chest around your back and around your neck, until you finally came up with this decorative accessory. You were beaming and said something about bringing back a fashion statement. I was just watching you feeling very confused and wondering if it was in reference to Next Top Model.
Anyhow, congrats on the book of stamps :)
