Tid Bits

Oh my my my! It was brought to my attention that my Color Commentary ("CC" for you frequent visitors) was completely empty! Yes, this is b/c it was configured to display only the past 8 days. I know--you're thinking SO many exciting things are going on in my life that I have no time to comment. I'VE FOOLED YOU ALL! Muahahahaaaa!

I've joined a women's soccer team in the DC area. We had a first practice last-last week. I think it's a pretty big team 'cause I was overwhelmed by the THREE people who showed up for practice. We played two-on-two soccer.........I'M SERIOUS. I took the Metro to get to practice (that's right--public transportation)! I don't do too much public transportation, so when I moved to VA I was extremely excited about taking the Metro. Since there are a buttload of tourists in DC, it's pretty easy to spot who's from out of town--like ME.

I rode a motorcycle for the first time*. I was lucky enough to get a chance to ride Mark’s (my roomie Julia’s boyfriend) bike. It was a lot fun until we got on the highway and I fell off…ha, I kid.

I’m going camping this weekend. WEST NILE ALERT WEST NILE ALERT. I’m going to coat myself in Off spray everyday. I don’t care if my skin can’t breathe. NO SHOWERS—just OFF.

I was going 56 in a 35, OK??? Not that bad….

Lastly, the Olympics are over. BUT HOLD THOSE TEARS! b/c CONAN's back on again… but you didn’t need me to tell you that.

Time for pictuuuuuures. From Stephen’s visit:

A glimpse into my room:

*NOTE: I didn't DRIVE the motorcycle...I merely hopped on for a ride. Did I drop down a notch on your "cool people" list? ):

Was I Speeding, Officer?

My streak of three warnings has ended. I received my first speeding ticket on the way to work yesterday morning. Those sneaky little cops in VA--I didn't see him until he stepped in front my lane. He stuck out his nasty palm and signaled me into a parking lot. JERK OFF...didn't he see that I was only a 15 year old (trapped in a 22 year old's body)? Usually when I get pulled over, they ask if I have some type of emergency--didn't even ask me! What if my poor grandmama fell out of her wheelchair in Taiwan, and I was rushing to her aid?! Jerk....

On another note, aren't the Olympics exciting to watch? I get so frigg'n tense when I watch swimming and gymnastics even though I don't give a lick about either sport and I already know the outcome...haha. I love it when the commentator's like, "Oh my gosh, watch this next move, it's a fantastic double layout with a smirnoff twist! ...Oh! That was amazing!"--Like half the audience can tell the difference between the flippys and whatnots. Or when they're like, "Oh my...that's going to be a tenth of a deduction. Her little pinky toe was NOT inline with the rest of her body." I can never tell if they screw up. Even when they fall off an apparatus I think they're just incorporating the floor into routines. I'm waiting for the day when one of the male gymnasts pops a vein while on the still rings.

But oh boy, that Michael Phelps--he's got sooooome body. But that LISP! I can't stand it--I wanna go, "Shhhhh, shhhh, Michael--don't speak. Try and signal what you want to say." Why is that all the guys in the summer olympics look hot (including those weightlifters), while the girls just look BUTCH...like they're saying, "I wanna EAT you!!!" Ehhh...minus those volleyball girls I guess.

So that's my take on the olympics so far. I will post pictures soon (alice). And to all you WASH U folks, people who are moving, and soon-to-be teachers--best of luck moving in and getting ready for a new year (:

What I do at work

People ask me what I do at work. Well, here goes: I process the internal charger for the systems processing unit in the intermediary junction for the Washington area....

Of course you don't understand! Feeble minds can never grasp what I do!

Being at work reminds me of my days in high school. When I was at PESH, I used to bring my lunch every day: sandwich, chips, fruit, dessert, rack of lamb, etc (all placed in my trendy Dallas Stars lunchbox!). By lunch time, my entire meal would be gone--where ever did it go? I would just nibble and nibble at my lunch until I had to buy one from the cafeteria during my lunch period. Sigh, yes, I must ration.

Here are some pics from me hanging out with Julie and Nelson before they left.

Wayne (forced by his parents) came down this past weekend. Woohoo Wayne, who started his job this week!

Isn't he great?

Do you see him?

Here he is again.

Nothing's sexier than a tall, pale, redhead in a warrior's outfit. Many of you know that I'm a big fan of Conan O'Brien. Ever since moving here to Virginia, I've been cursed with not having the means to watch him. Three reasons:
(1) Eastern Time Zone. It sucks, Conan comes on at 12:35 am (11:35 central). Woe is me.
(2) Work Schedule. I must wake up at 6:15 in the morning, which means I need to be in bed by 11:00. Woe is me.
(3) Shaving Cream. A can of shaving cream fell from a devistating height and crushed my left big toe....

I know, I know, you're crying tears of pity.

Soooo, in honor of "Conzone" [Jennifer snickers, that's what he calls himself], Alice has her own If They Mated. For those (very sad) few who don't know what it is, Conan's super team takes two celebrities and predicts what their children will look like. I started crying in pain after seeing the photo below.
