My struggle with lunges
Only b/c I'm a bored little girl...
"LUNGES!" I said to myself, "LUNGES!" After a lengthy run about two days ago, I decided to put my lower-body to the test. After a round on the lower-body circuit machines, I confidently strutted over to the mats and picked up the 8-pound dumbbells (EIGHT POUNDS, I say! EIGHT POUNDS!). Placing one in each hand, I looked sternly into the full-length mirror and took a deep breath. I began my first round of lunges. "Heh, not bad Jen, not bad!" I said to myself. So after a short rest, I began my next round of lunges. Though I found myself breathing heavier, I proceeded with the next set. It was during this third set that I found my pigeon-toed feet dragging on the mat--every once in a while, I would almost trip on the way up. Fatigue has set in. "You must proceed with the fourth set," I convinced my tired and worn body. In addition to my dragging feet, I found myself wobbling from side to side. Each lunge became climb up Mt. Everest. Finally, after four measly sets, I sat down and stretch out. Standing up and walking to the locker room, my leg silently quivered--threatening to give way if I went near any more weights. I had defeated the lunges.
Yesterday hurt--bearable though. So I ran a little more and concentrated on my massively muscular upper body.
Today hurts EVEN MORE. I walk like I'm permanently straddled on a horse. My muscles are crying...crying. The lunges have returned with a vengeance and defeated me instead.
So dramatic, huh? (: On to some events in my life. I went back home to surprise my dad for his bday. I had such a good time at home! Here are some photos:

This coming weekend, Miss Kathy Yang is coming into town!! I created an coughintineraryblahblah for her visit.

Me? A science fair judge?!
That's right, I volunteered as a high school science fair judge. I thought, this is my chance--my chance to get a free meal! I kid. I thought, this is my chance to give something back to the community! Ha, I kid again...it was for the food.
I was assigned the chemistry category (I knew my one year of pre-med would take me places) and had to judge 7 projects. I would go up to each of my assigned projects and talk to the students. I honestly felt like I blended in with all the students--I'm sure many of them were confused. But let's not talk about me, let's talk about all the CRAPPY projects I judged... hahahaha... I'm mean--I know, but it was clear that many of these kids didn't put much time into their projects. Seriously, how many times can "Which Detergent is Best at Removing Stains?" be done? These three girls told me that one of them, like, got a big stain, like, on one of her, like, fav shirts. So they tested Tide, Oxy, and clorox Bleach on strips of white cloth. I'm sorry, are we talking about BLEACH?--that stuff can burn holes in my skin. I just thought the results would be a bit OBVIOUS. I'm all about presentation, but many of these kids were not. One project,"The Diffrence Between Table and Commercial Salt," had the title written real big on the top of their board. You could tell they weren't too fazed when they realized they had spelled 'difference' wrong:

In my defense, there were a few really impressive projects. I gave out two honorable mentions and a first place. The first place was given to a group of girls whose project's details went over my head. I just smiled and said, "I like your shirt. Did you get that at ae?!" And there was this adorable little black boy who was so enthusiastic about his evaporation project--very polite and responded with "yes ma'ams." (: I had to give him an award.
Now for pictures...
Snowboarding trip was tons of fun. I fell a lot. In fact, I fell so much that I started getting a headache. My body was CRYING the day after the trip...CRYING. Here are some photos:

Last weekend I went bowling with my small group. I made a bet with my friend James--whoever gets the highest score, dresses the loser for church on Sunday. James is a huge Eagles fan. I don't care much for football, but I intended to dress him in Patriots gear if he lost. The slideshow below shows what happens when you put my bowling skillZ to the test.
